Baseball gloves are like living creatures. Just as humans, baseball gloves need maintenance. This blog talks about glove care for your baseball gloves as the glove craftman from Glom recommends.
・Moisturizer (Moiisturizing Oil) ・Cleaning Ointment
・Cloth(Dusting/Applying Oil) ・Dusting Brush
・Pighair Brush (Sand Remover) ・Horsehair Brush(Finishing)
【Step 1】Brush with Pighair Brush
Remove fine dust and dirt from entire surface of your glove by using a pighair brush.
【Step 2】Remove dirt and stain with cleaning ointment
Use cleaning ointment for stubborn stain that could not remove with the pighair brush.
Cleaning cream may loosen and remove the stubborn stain.
The use of rough cloth is recommended for easier removal.
A toothbrush can be a good solution for cleaning small and hard-to-reach spaces and glove laces.
【Step 3】Moisturize with moisturizer
Afer Step 2, leave the glove for a while before you move on to Step 3.
Apply moisturizer to the entire surface.
Use a fine and soft cloth to easily spread the moisturizer.
It is also recommended using your hands to apply the oil because the body temperature helps the oil to melt that makes it easier to permeate into the leather.
※If you have sensitive skin, please refrain from touching it with hands.
【Step 4】Brush with Horsehair brush
After applying the moisturizer, use the horsebrush to brush the entire glove to spread the moisturizer throughoutly.
If extra cream is left on the surface of the glove, dirt might tend to accumulate and it may increase the weight of the glove.
【Step 4】Brush with Horsehair to finish
After Step 4, leave the glove at a well ventilated area for 10 to 15 minutes to dry the glove. Then, brush the entire surface again to polish.
